Presenter: Kerry Hamilton; Kerry Hamilton, LLC;

While many companies purport to “do good” in their mission, vision, and values statements, those statements, more often than not, sit on a shelf gathering dust. Why does this happen? One of the most important reasons is that there are many pitfalls along the road toward operationalizing the mission. Many an organization starts down the mission-driven path only to discover the challenges that arise once the initial glow of crafting a mission statement fades. It’s easy to get stuck. How can the “doing good” in mission statements be taken off the shelf and brought onto the company floor? Coaching can help. Coaching helps leaders and organizations move through the challenges, turning obstacles into opportunities. Through observation of coaching demonstrations and participation in coaching practices, participants in this workshop will observe and learn first-hand the practical application of balance and perspective, values identification, and amplification of fulfillment in life and at work. The PDW will conclude by considering how these interactive coaching tools can be used in the classroom.
